What are fried flowers?<\/h2>\n

Fried flowers<\/strong> are one of these popular desserts that can be seen in the showcases of some of the most prestigious confectioneries in the country. It is a fried sweet in the shape of a flower, made with flour and sugar. <\/p>\n

They are very popular throughout Spain. In Galicia they are known as “flores de Entroido<\/strong>” and are prepared during Carnival, while in Extremadura and the two Castillas they are more of Easter. The truth is that, although it is not known where they come from, there are places where they are more emblematic, as is the case of Calatrava, in Castilla La-Mancha. There it shows a cross that is a military emblem and that is the usual distinctive of the fried flowers<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Spain is not the only place where fried flowers<\/strong> are prepared. Portugal, Mexico and Colombia also have their own version of this sweet. <\/p>\n
